So, on to another day. not as eventful.
I left work early on Mon.(5:15 is early for me these days) and I made it home by 6:15. I had a few pinning conversations with Rachel about whether or not I need to get milk, as she had her first night of class for the semester. Anyway, got the milk and I came home.
Apparently, my wonderful little girl had worn out her Mima who was so kind to watch her, as she was only interested in running around the room being chased, or being thrown up in the air and rough-housed. Typically, those are activities reserved for me, but with me not around, she decided Mima would fill in. So, I come through the door, call out "Ariella", and immediately I hear a loud "Ada" come from the other room, with a girl running out, blanky in tow to come jump in my arms. After giving multiple kisses we set the evening's agenda. "Ariella, here's the plan, we're going to eat dinner, have a bath, watch some wiggles with a bottle of milk, read brown bear, and then go to sleep." "ok!". "Yah" was her response.
So on to dinner. "Ariella, we're going to have some salami and rice, and orange juice, would you like some cheese to start off, then we'll switch?" "Yah" was her response once again. So we did just that. I got out the food and drink, switched table tops, started the meat, and then it got fun. She decided she needed to feed herslef with the spoon. So, for this I am very proud, because she tried so hard last night. She held the spoon with me and we fed her the whole dinner, switching off hands throughout, with my aid in then switching the direction of the spoon.
So dinner was a success, and she signaled she was done by pointing to the floor. I took her out, went into the other room, and started the bath. "Ariella, time for us to get your bath ready, and I need your help! Can you bring me your bath toys?" She walked into the living room, and grabbed with two hands her boat full of toys for the bath, and shlepped them against her tummy into the bathroom. I told her she had to put them in the bath, which she did, and we proceeded to undress, with her assistance. (I love it when she lifts her feet to me to take off her socks and pants.) Anyway, bath was a success, and she offered me her toes a few times that I should kiss them. They were wet and clean.
In the bath, I reiterated the plan with her assent. She stood up, got out, changed, and sat in the bed with wiggles while I got her bottle. She let me get her socks for her feet to stay warm, and we cuddled. We then proceeded to brown bear, and bed. All in all a good night, in bed at 7:35, out by 7:40, up the next day at 7:35am. Can't complain, and I hope this keeps up, as I sure do enjoy the sleep.

Jan 25th 2009
So today was pretty much our average day.
First was an early wake up this morning for minyan. I picked up bagels, got home. Ariella was awake with her new activity, watching her tv shows. I'm happy to know that there are actually are some tv shows that are safe for children. For us, we've tested Handy Manny, Wiggles, and Disney Mickey Mouse toons.
Anyway, we had some returns and shopping to do with our Sun (ah the excitement of married life, and we're only two years in). So, off to our exciting day.... We took EVA (we affectionately call our Garmin such a name after WALLE.), saddled Areilla in the car in an outfit, in which suprisingly she could move. So, in the car, and we prepare ourselves for the treck to Wayne county. For all reading this (which I don't know who exactly would be interested in doing so), let me describe Wayne. Wayne, NJ, is a wonderful place, practically inaccesible unless one has the patience to drive in circles, for as many times we've been there, we still will take a wrong turn. Then, there's the joy that driving to Wayne teaches defensive driving, and I advise it for any person who has a teenager, and would like to teach them of the evils of the road.
So we finally got to Wayne, went to Macy's and went return and shopping. My excitement was socks, Rachel got some new clothing. Ariella was amazing and stayed relaxed almost the whole time.
Here was the cute thing for the day. So Rachel enjoys a good starbucks now and then, and the cute thing is that somehow she has Pavlovianly trained Ariella to expect cookies each time Rachel buys from starbucks, her treat for behaving. So today, even without Rachel buying with her, as I had Ariella on another floor, my daughter the Starbucks cookie queen, as soon as seeing her mother with the drink, lovingly with her batted eyelashes says "Mah, Mamah" translation for "please mommy make my day and give me the cookie I expect you have". Luckily she did, which I find even more cute. So, the cookie was finished in under two minutes, and of course another was requested. At least for now we have the ability to bribe her, and said the next cookie comes in the car. Luckily we got home with no troubles. That was pretty much the whole day, uneventful but fun as always. For now, I'm watching Handy Manny on DVR with beautiful little blue eyed angel, and she's sitting glued to the TV(Ah how they grow up so fast).
